My mum passed away last night at about 10:30pm having had a massive stroke on her brain earlier yesterday morning - a trauma which caused her to become unconscious from which she never recovered.
She passed away peacefully and that is a something to be thankful for.
My mum was born in 1923 and had lived well and in health until her 80s when she started to become prone to arthritis, lost her eyesight, required hip and knee replacements and generally suffered from age-related illness which made her very unhappy with her life. In many respects I am glad that she has died as this ends her unhappiness and her personal sadness with having to live in pain and discomfort.
They would put down pets and horses that were as in as much pain, but, we humans now live far too long and persist with proscribing euthanasia or self-suicide when it is more an act of good than an act of evil.
A sad day but with a tinge of gladness as well for a mum who lived long but went perhaps 3 years too late!

My Hewlett-Packard HP w2007v Monitor has developed a fault. There is a broad screen discolouration running vertically down the screen from under the bezel “on/off” switch.
I have researched the HP Website for fault diagnosis and Googled the Web but, althought there are rave reviews for this good-but-basic monitor (and I have had no complaints so far!), this fault seems to be rare to unreported.
The problem is that the monitor is just 13 months old and my 1 year HP Warranty ran out a month ago which make me wonder about the reliability of Hewlett-Packard? Do they know that 12 months is the most their products can be trusted to live without faults developing!
Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

Just got back from a week’s holiday in Spain.
I went with Soos to Torreviecja, Murcia and stayed in my son-in-law’s apartment.
The first two days were a washout as I was really ill with this bug I mentioned in earlier posts. Fortunately, it only lasted the two days and the rest of the holidays was much better than I had hoped. The weather was great and the rest and recuperation was ideal and much needed!

I was hoping this was just a 24 hour bug but it’s carrying on! I feel yuck!

I took myself off to bed last night and stayed there for 24 hours.
I must have caught a chill from getting wet playing golf the other day . . . . I suddenly found myself feeling really cold last night and had aches and pains in my joints.
This lasted until late this afternoon but I am up and about now so able to say I was feeling grotty!

Chelsea FC midfielder Frank Lampard has signed a new five-year contract which will keep him at the club until 2014. This is great news as far as I am concerned!

I got out on the golf course again today but the weather changed from bright and sunny to overcast and then rain. It ain’t so great playing in the rain but that’s a typical English Summer these days!
Scored 115 again which, given the rain, wasn’t so bad.
